Ahead of the crucial meeting of the Permanent Representatives (also known as COREPER) of the EU Member States, 12 Italian organisations send a joint statement calling on the Italian government to positively position on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
Children are among the most vulnerable groups to abuse and social exclusion, and still too often fall victim to child labour, human trafficking, and other forms of violence perpetrated, facilitated, or tolerated by large international corporations along global value chains. The CSDDD can significantly contribute to preventing such abuses by effectively promoting respect for children’s rights by businesses wherever they operate.
Children are children.
Children cannot be victims of child labour tolerated by large international corporations.
We support @UNICEF_Italia, @SaveChildrenIT & other orgs call @MEF_GOV to say YES to the #CSDDD & show commitment to children’s rightshttps://t.co/gZdsxudx5I pic.twitter.com/nAqYl0T0zF
